From “Silent Suffering” to Self-Advocacy: A Human-Centred Menopause Education Strategy
Menopause is often a journey of silent suffering. Patients struggle to manage symptoms like brain fog and hot flushes, along with long-term risks to bone and heart health.
I transformed complex clinical guidelines into a clear, supportive article about this natural phase of life. Using Plain Language (Grade 7 readability), I simplified diagnostic criteria and treatment paths, from HRT to lifestyle adjustments, to reduce patient anxiety and improve health literacy.
This project provides women with a solid roadmap, encouraging them to track symptoms and engage in informed dialogues with their GPs. By bridging the gap between clinical data and the patient experience, I’ve created a tool that fosters autonomy and self-advocacy during a significant life transition.
